OMV has a community maintained VituralBox plugin and Docker repo/plugin too but I haven't used them. UnionFS plugin will pool all the drives together using MergerFS. The only down side is that it's not realtime parity, it's calculated when you or a script runs the command to sync the array. SnapRAID will handle the parity, up to 6 drive parity. The parity drives just needs to be the largest drives in the array. With this setup you can add any size drive to grow your pool and have parity protection.

With most normal arrays, you would lose it all. the remainder of the data on the array can be easily copied off. Another nice feature is that if you did lose more drives than you have parity drives, you only lose the data on those dead drives. It allows you to add new data drives as long as they are smaller than your parity drive(s). Assuming you’re storing movie/tv/iso files it’s really an ideal solution. Now, my main question is, are there any solutions I'm unaware of or overlooking? Can SnapRAID fulfill enough functionality that I can use Arch as a NAS and just drop in drives at any time, or is there some free program or OS that can do this?
